So it seems that the idea of having this page as a sketch blog has totally failed... I think part of the reason is that I'm generally not too happy with my sketches so I don't feel too inclined to share them. Besides, most of the art that I posted here in the past is old, and I'm fighting the urge to just delete it all. (though I still might) The upside is that if I do, I'll probably post some more recent stuff.
I never could get into livejournal fully though, I don't know why. (though I do like to be able to catch up on what's going on with all of you guys that I still have on the friends list :) ) |

I got a new sketchbook for my birthday :D It's a nice one too! And thus a new doodle. It's nothing much, but better than nothing I gather :)

Ah it's been a while :D I'm definately not good with that whole online blog thing. (even if it's just for posting artwork)
At any rate.. this is not quite a daily (started one day finished few weeks later), but it is a doodle, AND it's been quite a while since I posted something here so there you go. I hope that you like it :)

Oki, so I had this set of Faber Castell terra brush pens that I got a while ago, and I decided to put it to use finally. I Really love how they feel on the paper, and the quality of the line you can get with them. I definately don't have enough control over them, however. On a brighter note, I haven't been using them all that much *spare for the black one for inking on an occasion* so I might get better with time.
It's nothing elaborate -just a doodle. I'd like to try to do an actual piece with them at some point, but I think that'd be quite a challenge :) I suppose we'll see how it goes!
On a complety unrelated note, I'm addicted to Deine Lakaien lately. Ever felt like you were in love with a song :D? I don't think I can elaborate on the topic though because it's something that I've never been quite able to explain. (I think trying to remember a wonderful dream you once had but only remember bits and pieces of it, is the closest of a comparison I can come by) |

Ok, so yesterday I finally did what I've been planning to do for a long time now, and bought some acrylic paints :D And thus despite being dead tired I decided to test them out. (on 5x7 inch canvas panel, cause these things are inexpensive!)
Here's the result of my little trial, and mind you, it's not a masterpiece, but it's first time I used real acrylics. (as opposed to watercolours with matte medium mixed at the wrong proportions) Hopefully next time around I'll create something more presentable then this...
And no I didn't use all the colours I had, just a few to test things out.

Well... no not really, just a box :)
Basically at my job we get some of the paints in these cute boxes, which get thrown away. One of my co-workers got an idea that you could keep the boxes and decorate them. Thus I grabbed few to see what can I do. You'll probably see more of these in time :) (I want to experiment with different sort of media too)
At any rate - this is prototype of sorts, and watercolours mixed in with matte medium didn't quite work well for this purpose :3 I'm going to try something else next time around!

Firstly - sorry for not replying to comments on my last post... I'll do that tomorrow when I'll get a chance to x_x. I did read them all, but it's late and I'm tired, so I'll probably wite something more comprehensive tomorrow *than if i tired today*
That asides this took about 20 min. I didn't think I'd draw one today, but I had this idea in my mind for a while so I thought I'd draw it out finally :D
Now before you ask "what on earth..?" English is not my first language, and back in time there was a lot of things i misunderstood, and the definition of utensils was one of them. (so here you have what they are mixed with what I thought they were) I mean come on, utensils is such a silly word anyways!

Oki, I need to find a more interesting way to draw portraits (because they are almost always in similar pose and such)
